New CD to be released:
Vadim Repin has completed his second recording project for Deutsche Grammophon: Brahms Violin Concerto and the Double Concerto with Truls Mørk and Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under Riccardo Chailly.
To mark the end of the recording, they performed the same pieces in an open-air concert at Augustusplatz on September 6, 2008. The album will be released in November 2008 (Japan), and in January 2009 (Europe).

2008 Berlin Philharmonic European Concert in Moscow
The European Concert of Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra was held in the great hall of Moscow Conservatory on May 1, 2008. This year's tour took place under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, and the soloist was the celebrated violinist Vadim Repin, performing the first concerto for violin and orchestra by Max Bruch.

Best Chamber Music CD of the Year

Vadim Repin has signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, the record company announced.
"Making the Taneyev recording with all those superb musicians and Deutsche Grammophon's incredible team of producers and engineers was a wonderful for me," Repin said in a statement. "They made me feel like part of a close artistic family. So you can imagine what excitement I'm feeling now, what an honor it is for me to actually become a member of that family." Midori and violinist Vadim Repin have joined forces in a new initiative, the Midori/Repin Commissioning Project. Through Meet the Composerfs New Music, New Donors program, individual donors will commission four solo works, each four minutes in length, to be used by the violinists as encores and in personal appearances in a variety of contexts, including fundraising events, media promotion and educational outreach. Midori and Repin have chosen 8 composers whose work they admire, and the commissioning donors will be invited to choose among them. To date, the commissioners include Susan V. Repin premieres Brewbaker's Violin Concerto
with Baltimore Symphony / Temirkanov
Daniel Brewbaker has been commissioned to compose works by renowned conductors and orchestras of the world. Most recently a Violin Concerto will be premired by Vadim Repin on June 16th in Baltimore. This concerto was commissioned by Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for Vadim Repin in celebration of the opening of the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD.

Paganiniana 2004 in Genova, May 2004
Genova, the birthplace of Nicolo Paganini, is paying homage to Paganini with a series of events called "Paganiniana" every two years. Concerts with prestigious violinists and an international convention on the makings of string insruments, and other musical events are scheduled in October, with a preview in May. This year on 31 May, Repin will play the "Cannnone", famous Guarneri owned by Paganini in the recital with Golan at the Carlo Felice Opera House (Teatro Carlo Felice).

Vadim Repin's debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Mariss Jansons, was a great success and was broadcast live throughout Europe on 3-SAT television on Sunday 23 June. The programme was entitled "World Encores" and Repin performed 7 pieces: Wieniawski Polonaise in D, Tchaikovsky Melody and Waltz-Scherzo, Piazolla Todo Buenos Aires, Kreisler Tambourin Chinois, Williams Tango and Paganini Carnival of Venice.

Played tango at the eve of royal wedding concert in Holland:
Vadim Repin was invited to perform at the eve-of-wedding concert of Crown Prince Willem Alexander of the Netherlands and his bride, Maxima Zorreguieta. The concert, which was a private event for the wedding guests including royalty and heads of state from around the world, took place on 1st February in Amsterdam's historic Concertgebouw. Vadim Repin played a tango called "Por una cabeza" in honour of the Argentinian bride.
